An explanation of why I have decided to end the production and sale of Vegan Athletic apparel.
For those who have read the last post, you will know that in May of this year I put a hold on production and sales due to our factory not being able to produce under our Ethical On Demand four week turn around as the factory found themselves at production capacity.
Soon after putting production on hold I extended an invite for outside help, in the hope that it would connect me with the right people who could offer advice on how to get production back up and running under a new model.
I was humbled by the number of people who got in contact with me and the amount of experience and knowledge they shared with me over the last three months.
Over that period we covered in great detail factors such as capital investment, manufacture modelling, future brand values, mission statement projections, logistics and of course ethics and sustainability. With all factors greatly considered, I decided that I am not prepared to take on a project that needs the significant capital investment and a shift toward a manufacturing model that I don't personally believe in. I assure you this was not an easy decision to make, but I know that I took everything I could possibly take into consideration before coming to this conclusion.
Unfortunately, a made-on-demand model is difficult to manage and maintain as a manufacturer, and I'm truly grateful to my factory owners for allowing me to operate this way for as long as we did. Vegan Athletic's success was built on that model, it was sustainable, and it was the only way I felt comfortable about doing business as a commodity brand.
To everyone who has been waiting for products to become available again, I am genuinely sorry to have kept you on hold and in hope up until now. I do have a small amount of stock and samples in various sizes that I will make available at a later date, so keep an eye on our social media pages for the ability to buy them at a discounted price.
The good news is that Vegan Athletic Food will continue to be available as an eBook with the hope to publish it for print if the right opportunity comes up. We are going to also introduce a recipe section with full recipes and articles on our website that extends on the same fuelling and recovery principles we established in the book.
You will notice that our Instagram page will focus on food from now on and I'm also looking forward to making time for covering vegan nutrition and athletic performance topics on the Vegan Athletic Podcast now that I have space to create digital content over creating apparel.
I am more than happy to hear from anyone if they have any questions or concerns about this news and will do my best to answer and respond to you all as quickly as possible.
Thank you all for allowing me to ride this wave. I've enjoyed it so much, and I've met so many great people as a result. Please feel free to email me any time, and I look forward to continuing our connection through the Vegan Athletic Food movement.
Use the chest, and waist dimensions for determining products you wear from your hips up and use the hips/butt and denim/pant size dimensions to determine what size you are for products you wear from the hips down. We've even added a female dress size conversion table that aligns with our sizing to help incase you don't have measuring tape on hand.
If you are still not sure what size you are, then please feel free to send an email with your weight, height, chest, waist, hip, dress or pant sizing to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be more than happy to help you find that perfect fit.
